Just in time for the Monaco Yacht show between September 23 to 26 this year, Yacht Club de Monaco gets a makeover. Baroque Yachts has all the details
The Principality of Monaco is famous as one of the most prestigious yacht ports in the Mediterranean. Recently, famous British architect Lord Norman Foster was commissioned to transform the 26 berth Yacht Club de Monaco, which reopened this summer with a whole new look.
His genius design includes transforming the club to resemble a yacht with sweeping wooden terraces created out of the same materials as the renowned Carlo Riva speedboats. The grounds now boast a number of areas for dining, drinking and relaxing, including a ballroom. All are decorated with exquisite Fendi Casa cushions and framed Hermes scarves. The main lounge offers inviting white sofas where members can enjoy a choice of over 1,600 books. Members can also watch the Grand Prix and Formula One Cars from huge picture windows in the Riva Lounge. The newly designed yacht club also includes four private quarters where members can stay when they are visiting Monaco as well as a swimming pool.
To date, Yacht Club de Monaco has 1,300 members in all – and if you’re interested in becoming a member of the Club, you will need two sponsors to get onto a very long waiting list.
Of course, you can still visit this prestigious club during the 25th Monaco Yacht Show that takes place at Port Hercules from Wednesday 23 to Saturday 26 September. This iconic show offers the opportunity to view, visit and purchase a variety of extraordinary and unique super yachts that have been built by the world’s most admired and coveted shipbuilders.
Worth Avenue Yachts in collaboration with boat builder Dynamiq will have an official stand at the show that is located in the Yacht Club de Monaco. They will also have a private suite with balcony in the Yacht Club de Monaco overlooking the port and the show so that you can relax and watch the proceedings at leisure.
And the Monaco Yacht Show has lots to offer. Hundreds of the leading yacht companies in the world, as well as designers, luxury manufactures and brokerage houses exhibit at the show, including 40 new super yacht launches.
