Opened in mid-May in time for summer 2018, the Hôtel de Berri in Paris is a welcome addition to the city. Baroque Travel finds out all about it
Ideally located just four minutes walk from the Champs-Elysées, the luxurious Hôtel de Berri boasts a unique asset, its own private 3,000-square metre park filled with century-old trees and lush greenery. A Luxury Collection Hotel (which is part of the Marriott International group), this establishment is ideally located for visitors to Paris who enjoy romance, great food and excellent shopping. Close to designer stores, 10 minutes’ walk from the Arc de Triomphe and just 350m from V Metro Station, the hotel is built close to the site where avante-garde Parisian designer Elsa Schiaparelli lived. The former 19th century office building has been meticulously revamped and offers a taste of history as well as every modern convenience.
Most of the 76 guest rooms including 37 suites overlook the hotel’s private park, offering a very different experience to staying in this busy city. Rooms are spacious with high ceilings, large windows and marble fireplaces, parquet floors as well as Apple TV, automated mood lighting and en suite Italian marble bathrooms with rain showers, bathtubs and luxury toiletries.
Guests can enjoy a selection of breakfasts, including American, Asian, Continental or Gluten-free and the excellent restaurant on the premises, called The Schiap, offers authentic Italian dishes mixed with some French classicism for lunch and dinner. The kitchen is headed by Italian chef Michele Dalla Valle who handpicks exceptional ingredients to create exquisite, tasty dishes. There is also a hotel bar, Bizzaz, that opens onto the park, where mixologist Geoffroy Lebris and infuser Christopher Gaglione create another kind of delicious magic.
The fashionable 8th arrondissement, where the hotel is located, is the perfect base from which to explore the city. The Metro station nearby offers easy access to all of Paris’ major sights, including Tuileries Garden, the Louvre and the Place de la Bastille. Alternatively, guests can choose to remain at the hotel to enjoy its state-of-the-art spa and fitness facilities.
A stay at Hotel de Berri is an experience in the art of living in Paris. With a special artistic cachet and that signature Parisian elegance, it offers an unsurpassed luxury stay. Decorated to resemble an elegant Parisian mansion, it boasts an exceptional art collection that is part of the eye-catching décor. Not one of the guest rooms and suites in this luxury establishment look the same – each has its own individual character, minimalist yet quirky at the same time with all the comforts of a luxury home.
