NYC’s latest hotel to open its doors is a cut above the rest – not only does it have a prestigious Park Avenue address, but it was made locally by expert artisans in the five boroughs. Baroque Travel investigates

From the magnificent 14-foot fireplace in the lobby to the exquisite, hand-picked furniture all custom-created for the prestigious Marmara Park Avenue by local New Yorkers. NYC artist and designer, Joe Ginsberg not only custom-made the superlative furniture in the hotel, he was responsible for leading the other arts and craftsmen through their paces to create this plush, modern establishment. The hotel, which opens in May, was designed to reflect a chic pied-a-terre that would fit in with others of its ilk in Manhattan. And it does this with aplomb.

All areas in the hotel are spacious with high ceilings, including the hotels 128 guest rooms, suites and three sumptuous penthouses. The décor is sophisticated, edgy and stylish, indicative of ultra-luxury Manhattan hotels.

Set in the heart of the city in dynamic East Midtown, the hotel is located in a historic 21-storied building that was originally erected in 1927. Impeccably stylish and unashamedly plush, The Marmara Park Avenue stands proud, waiting to become another NYC landmark that is as feted as the best. In keeping with the design, which is both innovative and decidedly local, the hotel is also welcoming and comfortable and pulls out all the stops to make guests feel right at home. Although tranquil and polished, it retains a sense of being a retreat, a refuge from the noise and bustle of the city that is renowned for never sleeping.

Aside from offering unparalleled views of the city from every window, the hotel is also known for its meticulous attention to detail. All the guest accommodation occupies the 12th to the 17th floors in the hotel. Rooms are light, spacious and ultra luxurious, with huge beds, exquisite, comfortable linen, en suite marble bathrooms and every facility, including in-room iPad Air, LED TVs, free WiFi and much more. Forty of the suites have their own private terrace, offering a plush idyll, a sanctum from the city, a real home from home environment.

Facilities include a sophisticated lobby lounge, restaurant, wellness center and state of the art gymnasium that is open 24 hours a day, with indoor pool, sauna and steam rooms.

The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Nomad (North of Madison Square Park) at Park Avenue and 32nd Street. It also boasts a sister hotel in the historically wealthy neighborhood on New York’s Upper East Side, at 94th Street and Second Avenue.
