Every year in March, Monte Carlo hosts the legendary Rose Ball, an event originally created by Princess Grace of Monaco in 1954. Located in the prestigious Salle des Etoiles in Monte Carlo, this is the first important social event of the year, bringing together the cream of international high society .

For one special evening, the Principality of Monaco is bathed in radiance and full of festivity, glitz and glamor. The ball symbolizes the glamor of Monte Carlo created by Princess Grace, an aura that attracts many people to visit here to this day so that they too can be part of the enchantment of this tiny principality.

Currently Prince Albert, Princess Charlene and Princess Caroline preside over the Rose Ball, which offers a brand new theme ever year. Famous celebrities assist in organizing the creative aspects of this exciting event, and bring their talents to life on stage.

The Ball is more than just a big event on the international social scene. It’s also a legendary fundraiser for the Princess Grace Foundation, an internationally recognised charity that has been in existence since 1964 and assists people in need through various humanitarian and philanthropic projects.

Of course, the Ball includes a gourmet dinner and live music. Tickets to the event don’t come cheap, but as all proceeds go to the Princess Grace Foundation, it’s certainly a worthy event. As always, there will be magnificent bouquets of different roses decorating the Salles, and you can rest assured that top international performers will be delighting the audience. Of course, the dress code is for black tie and female guests go all out with their finest evening wear.

What to expect in 2016

The President of the Princess Grace Foundation, HRH The Princess of Hanover, has once again requested that her close friend, Karl Lagerfeld design the 62nd Rose Ball. This year’s theme is Cuba, a country known for its vibrant music and vivid colors. Several Cuban bands will play throughout the evening.

Guests will gather around a walkway and make their way through Cuban sugar fieldsand colourful fruit stands to the Salles where the Ball will be held. The Salles will be the perfect setting for an exceptionally magic evening.
