Creatives from all over the world are flocking to Cannes this coming week to attend the famous Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
The famous Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, which will be held from 18 to 25 June this year, is a global event that is much anticipated by those who work in the creative communications, advertising and related fields. It’s apparently the largest gathering of worldwide creative, including advertising professionals, designers, marketers and digital innovators.
The festival, which is held annually and takes place over a period of seven days, includes the legendary Lions Awards ceremony which is held at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes. These are the most coveted creative accolades in the world. Every year, more than 40,000 submissions are judged and presented at the Festival.
This year, as in years past, more than 15,000 delegates from all over the world will gather together to visit this famous festival to network, discuss the industry and celebrate the best of global creativity in brand communication.
The week-long activities are numerous and include four different award ceremonies in total as well as an opening and closing gala. Much like the famous Cannes Film Festival, which is the inspiration for this creative one, the Cannes Lions recognises creative talent, be it of a different kind. These festivals have been an annual highlight of Cannes’ social events calendar since 1984.
