Impressive displays of the finest yachts is just the tip of the iceberg at the 2017 Singapore Yacht Show, the most important yacht show in South East Asia. There will also be displays from a host of people involved in every sphere of the luxury industry, as well as special VIP events, elegant soirées and great networking opportunities. All of this as the backdrop for the impressive line-up of yachts and other sailing vessels located at the exclusive ONE°15 Marina Club at Sentosa Cove.
Launched almost a decade ago, the three-day Singapore Yacht Show has become one of the most important events on the world super yacht calendar. This is where leading international shipyards come to showcase their latest projects, shoulder to shoulder with numerous luxury brands who also exhibit their newest lines.
When you’re not viewing the finest luxury yachts and boats, or finding out about the latest in luxe leisure goods such as supercars and jewelry, there’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy exclusive fine-dining and attend important social events.
Highlights of the show include the launch of the magnificent Falcon 8X by aviation giant Dassault Falcon. This is the brand’s latest ultra-long range jet that boasts a range of more than 6,000 nautical miles.
When it comes to super yachts, viewers will be spoilt for choice. This year’s show features a variety of these, including Benetti Yachts’ latest vessel, the 65-meter-long Ambrosia, which is as long as the wingspan of a 747 jet! The 46m tri-deck catamaran Charley makes her world premiere at the show, along with Sunreef Yachts’ bespoke Sunreef 62 and Anette 2 and from Boat Lagoon Yachting, there’s the Princess S60 and Princess 49.
If you have seen the cult movie, Point Break, you’ll enjoy viewing the 41m M/Y Ocean Emerald, which was designed by Norman Foster. The yacht’s main saloon features immense windows on each side, offering breathtaking sea views.
Simpson Marine offers two Asian premiers, the Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 62 and the Beneteau Gran Turismo 46. They will be presented alongside two yachts that are making their Singapore debuts, the Lagoon 620 Essence and the Monte Carlo 6. Ferretti will showcase five yachts this year, three of which have not been displayed in the region before. They include the Ferretti Yachts 450, the Pershing 5X and the Ferretti Yachts 700.
Of course, this is just a taste of what will be on show in 2017. And that’s not counting a variety of toys to have with you on your boat, including state-of-the-art submersibles for underwater virtual reality diving experiences, inflatable slides, climbing walls and various other fun products and yacht accessories.
We can’t leave out the selection of supercars that will be on display at the show, including some of the most impressive from brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bentley. And then there’s the world premier of the Whisky Watch, a unique, extremely collectible timepiece crated by Louis Moinet Atelier and presented at the show by the B28 Whisky Fund. What sets this watch apart is its time capsule that houses drops of the world’s oldest whisky, Old Vatted Glenlivet 1862 within its case. In addition, it comes in a limited edition of just 50.
