Join the jet set (and that includes George and Amal Clooney, who have a home here) on Lake Como this summer, staying in a magnificent villa, once the residence of the Dukes of Serbelloni. Baroque Villas has all the details
The exquisite Villa Sola Cabiati, historic residence of the Dukes of Serbelloni, provides guests with an exclusive retreat on the western shore of Lake Como. The villa, which is a refined example of Baroque architecture, was once the summer residence of Duke Gabrio Serbelloni and his family from the second half of the 1700s onwards.
All the bedrooms in this elegant villa (there are six, offering accommodation for up to 12 people) are located on the ground floor and part of the first floor. Every one boasts breathtaking views of Lake Como and is fully equipped with every possible modern amenity. The villa has been meticulously restored to its former glory and still features the family’s original furniture. Throughout this refined private villa are period antiques, objects d’art, paintings, engravings and prints of exceptional taste and quality dating from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
Staying in this historic villa, guests get to live and breathe history and art. The magnificently frescoed rooms, ornate stucco work and antique furniture all reflect the exquisite taste of the noble families who resided here.
The top two floors of the villa have been preserved as a private museum containing the furnishings and personal effects of the family. These exquisite rooms are not included in the rental of the villa, but interested guests can request that a member of the family show them these rooms during their stay.
The villa has been considered one of Lake Como’s most beautiful since the 18th Century. In fact, it used to be described as ‘the pearl of Lake Como’. It is a hallmark of Italian art and architecture, passed down from one generation to the next of one of Lombardy’s most noble families. Located right next to the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, Villa Sola Cabiati provides guest with an opulent experience.
Lake Como has been the inspiration of poets and writers for centuries, and its fascination remains unchanged. Aside from its natural beauty, the area offers a vast array of cultural and sports activities as well as plenty of facilities for leisure and relaxation.
