The first-ever Phuket RendezVous yacht show will take place from 4 to 7 January 2018 at the famous Royal Phuket Marina. Baroque Access finds out all about the replacement of the 14-year-old Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX)
Expect the best of luxury lifestyle to be displayed at this inaugural yacht show, the Phuket RendezVous, taking place for the first time ever at the Royal Phuket Marina in Phuket, Thailand in January. The show, which replaces the Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX), which was held annually for the past 14 years and at the Royal Phuket Marina for the last decade, takes place over four days. The Royal Phuket Marina will be transformed into a hub of luxury, showcasing the region’s leading dealers and brokers to an expected 10,000 leisure boating enthusiasts.
The show, which takes place daily, will feature everything luxurious, from watches and super cars to fashion, art, and, of course, super yachts. Guests will have access to more than 50 luxurious yachts and the opportunity to chat to yacht brokers, upmarket property developers, bespoke travel organizations and specialists in the hospitality, food and beverage industries.
The inaugural Singapore RendezVous, which was held from 5 to 8 October this year, set the benchmark for this type of event, and it’s believed that the Phuket show will be as popular and exciting, offering guests a touch of Thai luxury. The Royal Phuket Marina is the ideal location for the event, offering guests an opportunity to enjoy the marina lifestyle, stroll along the boardwalk, see all the exhibits on display and enjoy some oysters and champagne at one of a number of luxury pop-up outlets.
Yachts of all shapes, types and sizes will be on display and marine suppliers will show off engines, chandlery and water sport toys to fulfil every yacht lover’s dream of the luxury yachting lifestyle. In addition, the show will feature a selection of specially curated activities, combining luxury with art and entertainment to offer a unique experience.
Highlights of the event include a new super yacht event being held on a nearby island, the Epicurio Wine Fair, where visitors can sample and purchase specially curated wines, featured panel talks by industry specialists, including magazine publishers, celebrities and representatives of luxury brands. There will also be a fashion show as well as the Christofle Awards, one of Asia’s leading award ceremonies.
In addition, the event will feature a comprehensive conference program, covering diverse topics such as marine safety and operation regulations, boat maintenance and consumer trends. Visitors will have every opportunity to learn about the latest developments, challenges and trends in the marine, boating and chartering industries.
The Royal Phuket Marina will be transformed into a creative open space, and will feature specially curated art displays and exhibitions that showcase both local and international artists. Photography giant Leica and experts will also be on hand to give advice master this digital art. Visitors can then submit their photographs to The Phuket RendezVous’ official Instagram page where they stand to win a selection of prizes.
