Opening in January 2018, the innovative Elizabeth Unique Hotel is set in a meticulously restored 17th Century palazzo in the heart of the old city of Rome. Baroque Travel discovers its magic

A perfect blend of old-world charm and contemporary facilities, the Elizabeth Unique Hotel is located on a pedestrianized street in Rome’s historic centre. Via del Corso is a historic street that connects Piazza del Popolo to Piazza Venezia. This luxury palace-turned-townhouse offers just 33 guest rooms and suites and features sophisticated design, with lacquered wooden panels, arched walls, canopy beds, couture fabrics and carefully curated art pieces that will transform the hallways and guest rooms into private exhibition spaces. The restoration of the palazzo is the work of acclaimed Rome-based Marincola studio and the final result is a mix of traditional and contemporary, offering guests an ideal setting from which to explore Rome’s many treasures.

With the entrance on Via delle Colonnette, close to the famous Spanish Steps and many of Rome’s top restaurants and stores, cultural landmarks and monuments, the hotel features a majestic entrance leading to the lobby and a reading room with an inviting open fireplace.

Facilities include the hotel’s bar and bistro, Bar Bacharach & Bistrot that open out onto a stone terrace with its own garden filled with jasmine. The breakfasts here are legendary, with a choice of local and international delicacies. The restaurant uses only prime local produce for it’s a la carte breakfast service and the bar features classic cocktails and an extensive wine list. In the warmer months, the terrace that overlooks Via Frezza will be transformed into a vibrant urban garden, where guests can enjoy live music while watching the world go by.

There is a choice of guest rooms and suites, many of which offer views over picturesque Via del Corso. All offer queen-size beds and en suite bathroom with shower, while some of the deluxe rooms and junior suites also feature bathtubs or saunas.

The hotel’s location in one of Rome’s most culturally rich areas makes it very unique. Everything is close by, yet the hotel itself is private and intimate, a hidden gem in this vibrant city.
