Just opened in July, the Luxury Collection’s glamorous Domes Miramare is located on the lush Greek island of Corfu, 25 minutes’ drive from Corfu town. The adults-only property has history attached, too. It was originally built as a modernist home for the wealthy Onassis family led by Aristotle Onassis in the late 1960s. Now, after a multimillion-Euro renovation, it reopened on 14 July. From 01 August it will become under Luxury Collection management operating under the Domes brand, the third Domes property in Greece (the other two are Domes Noruz Chania and Domes of Elounda, both located in Crete, both part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection.)
The newest establishment is located on the east coast of Corfu, just 10 miles from the airport. It features 113 rooms, suites and villas, all decorated in a chic, minimalist color palette of blue, cream and green that perfectly reflects the island. All feature a terrace, ocean or garden views and en suite marble bathrooms. The Pavilion Suites offer private pools and gardens and are all located on the beach. There are also two large pool villas that can be rented out for larger families or groups.
Dining at Domes Miramare is a treat, with a Michelin-starred chef, Tassos Mantis, whose menu features local, seasonal ingredients. There are indoor and outdoor dining areas and a rooftop bar featuring creative cocktails crafted by expert mixologists. The resort focuses on relaxation and recreation, offering beach yoga on the stunning 600m white sand beach, a selection of spa treatments and swimming pools as well as a personal trainer for fitness fanatics.
Guests can also enjoy exciting excursions to UNESCO-listed Corfu town, or explore the island’s magnificent interior and a choice of idyllic beaches. Many of Corfu’s sights, including the Mon Repos Palace and Panagia Vlahernon Church, are within 14km of the hotel.
