The Library in Koh Samui, Thailand is the perfect spot to relax, soak up the sun and read a good book. Baroque Travel finds out all about this innovative book-themed boutique hotel

This stunning beachfront hotel is housed in an elegant minimalist structure, and has been designed around the notion of a book. Each room and space is a blank page waiting to be filled with experiences. The hotel complex comprises a number of buildings nestling in lush vegetation by the sea, a bright red-floored swimming pool, glass-encased gym and an all-white library that pulls the entire concept together and houses 1,400 books that guests can borrow and read in various spaces, including by the pool and on the beach.

There are 46 rooms, pool villas and suites, all featuring minimalist décor and plenty of space to read, reflect and relax. Sleek and uncluttered, they offer every possible mod con, including plasma TVs and iMacs. They’re decorated with exotic works of art and bold pops of red in the simplistic furniture. The Exotic Suites feature open-air patios with a Jacuzzi, while the Smart Studio is ideal for couples wanting private time, and features a garden. The Exotic Suite on the ground floor boasts an outdoor patio facing the garden, while The Bookmark offers clean lines and simple shapes.

There’s also a 2-bedroom Suite that is ideal for families and various stunning Pool Villas including The Editor, a bespoke space for couples with an 8m-long saltwater pool. The Writer is the hotel’s largest, most exclusive villa with beach access and frontage, library, outdoor cinema, courtyard with private gym and a Jacuzzi. It also has an upper floor terrace with its own saltwater swimming pool.

Dining is offered at The Library’s iconic restaurant on the beach, The Page, which features a Thai and international fusion menu as well as a host of ‘Original Experiences’ that have garnered it acclaim as one of the best restaurants in Koh Samui, quite a feat considering the many great restaurants available in this area’s upmarket dining scene. One experience is a majestic dinner feast that follows the concept of ‘Samrab Thai’ and combines 8 distinct flavor and texture profiles found in traditional Thai dishes.

There’s also the Drink Gallery, an alternative restaurant offering whimsical drinks and artistic culinary delights and The Tapas Bar, which offers a casual setting where guests can enjoy tapas and refreshing drinks. Guests can also relax at the Beach Bar that offers 101 unique cocktails accompanied by live music during Happy Hour.
