The luxury Nobu Hotels group is set to open another iconic establishment this September, in beautiful Barcelona. Baroque Travel finds out all the details

Nobu Hotels are iconic for being chic, elegant and on trend. And their latest offering, set to open in Spain’s legendary city of Barcelona, will be no exception. It offers 259 stylish rooms and suites, plus the spacious and prestigious Nobu Suite, all with floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the magnificent views, marble en suite bathrooms, luxury bath amenities and a 60-inch LCD TV.

The hotel will also house the first Nobu Restaurant in the city as well as a Japanese-inspired tapas bar called Koraza. Unpretentious luxury, distinctive design and excellent service are signatures of Nobu Hotels, so guests can expect all of this as well as an opportunity to really explore this famous European city.

Situated in Barcelona’s charming neighbourhood of Eixample, away from the city bustle, Nobu Hotel Barcelona is ideally located just a 5-minute walk from the city’s vibrant La Rambla and close to the Montjuic Olympic area, the cruise ship terminal and the main railway station for those travelling to and from Madrid, Paris, Lyon and Marseille.

The 23-story hotel offers an elegant spa and 24-hour gym as well as a selection of meeting and event spaces, not to mention panoramic views of Barcelona and the sea. The hotel Interiors have been designed and created by the award-winning architecture and design firm, Rockwell Group. Their inspiration blends seamlessly with the Japanese minimalism so iconic of Nobu Hotels, resulting in a blend of luxe hotel and living areas. Catalan-inspired designs such as the works of famous Spanish artist Gaudi sit side to side with the Japanese art of Kintsugi – the art of repairing broken pottery with gold, silver or platinum – to create unique collages of textures, materials and spaces throughout this extraordinary hotel.

The first Nobu Restaurant in the city, located on the 23rd floor of the hotel, will offer unmatched views of the city skyline. The restaurant menu will typically include local ingredients as well as traditional cuisine created with Nobu’s signature Japanese style by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Inspired by the famous chef’s extensive travels through South America, the extensive menu is a delightful mix of bold flavors. The restaurant also offers a 24-hour in-room dining menu, featuring its celebrated dishes.

The bar, Kozara, located in the hotel lobby, will serve scrumptious Japanese-style tapas and cocktails featuring the most exciting range of sake and Japanese whiskeys available. There will also be an extensive Champagne menu.

Nobu Hotel Barcelona will be the fourth European Nobu property to open in Europe – and, interestingly enough, the third to open in Spain. Reservations are currently open for those who wish to be the first to stay in this chic and luxurious property.
