The new Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Power Control features a two-tone steel and 18-carat ethical rose gold case and a Chronometer-certified, self-winding movement offering 60 hours of power reserve. The dial and strap recall the tones of historic competition cars.
Inspired by the style and evocative atmosphere unique to the world of historic motoring, the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control watches take their cues from paint colors and design codes of classic cars – an exceptional expression of that iconic gentleman driver spirit of the most celebrated and most beautiful automobile race on Italian roads, the Mille Miglia.
This magnificent watch is produced in a strictly limited edition of just 500 worldwide. It features a 43mm case made from a combination of steel and 18-carat ethical rose gold. The sophisticated, ruthenium grey dial was created using a galvanic treatment; it features gilded edging on the Super-Luminova painted hour and minute hands and applied hour markers that are complemented by a gilded seconds hand.
A power reserve indicator at the nine o’clock position on the dial takes the form of a typical classic car fuel gauge, while the date window at 3 o’clock is framed by a miniature version of the ‘1000 Miglia’ direction arrows that famously mark the route of this iconic race. To complete this quintessential driver’s watch, it is fitted with a cognac-colored perforated calfskin strap, with a rubber lining based on the pattern of a 1960s racing tyre.
The heart beating inside the Mille Miglia GTS Power Reserve is Chopard’s tireless and reliable 01.08-C Chronometer-certified, self-winding movement. And, for gentleman drivers who truly appreciate what goes on under the bonnet as much as the lines of a beautifully designed body, the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control features an exhibition case back carrying the inscription ‘Brescia-Rome-Brescia’ as a reminder of the 1,000-mile loop that makes up ‘the most beautiful race in the world’.
