For an entire month, from 26 May to 27 June 2017 the spotlight will be on Bermuda’s Great Sound where the 35th America’s Cup will take place. Baroque Access has all the details

2017 heralds the 35th time that the world’s best sailors on the fastest boats will compete for the oldest trophy in international sport. Famous for its azure waters and exquisite sand beaches, Bermuda’s Great Sound creates a natural amphitheater for the America’s Cup racecourse. Located at the Royal Naval Dockyard, the America’s Cup Village will be the hub of this exceptional event, home to all of the teams, restaurants, entertainment and concerts.

Of course, Bermuda’s Great Sound offers exceptional racing conditions, sometimes varied, but this only increases the challenge for the sailors who are competing.

The racing begins at 2pm Bermuda time on 26 May with the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Qualifiers. The top Challenger will meet Defending Champions Oracle Team USA in this match, which begins on 17 June. This will be the first time the America’s Cup Class (ACC) yachts and their sailing crews will engage in competition. ACC yachts are cutting edge catamarans designed and created by each of the six America’s Cup teams.
