You don’t have to leave Manhattan to enjoy an outdoor vacation, thanks to AKA Central Park. Baroque Travel finds out all the details

Glamping (glamorous camping) is still the only way to enjoy an outdoor experience if you’re a fan of luxury. And this summer, until Labor Day weekend, AKA Central Park is offering the ultimate glamping adventure, sleeping outside under the stars in the lap of luxury.

So yes, your luxury bed will be outdoors, and every possible facility will be on hand to make sure that you have the ultimate glamping getaway. But there’s more. For starters, you get to sleep in a pair of luxury pyjamas from Bergdorf Goodman. Organize your own fashion shoot if you wish, as there’s a photographer on call to document your adventure. The pampering and good food will be followed by sleeping outdoors in a luxurious queen-sized bed. You will also get to enjoy sunrise yoga (of course, the sunrise will be glorious!) with Lululemon.

This exceptional experience is your adventure when you stay at one of the two exquisite, light-filled Sky Suites at AKA Central Park, each of which boasts a 1,000-square-foot terrace with a stunning wood-burning fireplace. Even getting there is exclusive – the 17th floor of the hotel is only accessible with a private key.

Of course, if you prefer, you can sleep inside the Sky Suite. At $3,855 per night, you call the shots. Unless the weather takes over…

Of course, you don’t have to stay outdoors at this exceptional luxury hotel, which is located just off Fifth Avenue and a block from the entrance of Central Park. This 17-story highrise offers a selection of excellent accommodation in the form of 134 exquisite, spacious studios as well as one and two-bedroom furnished apartments with full kitchens. The penthouse suites, located on the 15th and 16th floors of the hotel, are its most exclusive offerings, featuring breathtaking city views, custom designed furniture, Italian lighting, fully-equipped kitchens, marble bathrooms and 55-inch TVs. The Sky Suites mentioned above are the most exclusive offerings with panoramic views in three directions.

The hotel’s fitness center is renowned, and AKA Central Park also offers a residents-only lounge and private access to the café for breakfast, organic coffee, lunch and afternoon tea.

The hotel is exceptionally well-situated, close to all of Fifth Avenue’s iconic stores as well as many local museums, including MOMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim. The concierge will also assist in booking theater, restaurant, limo and other services.
