There are 11 top hotels and hoteliers named in the Virtuoso® Best of the Best Awards for 2017, including a magnificent Italian palace, Palazzo Seneca, that received acclaim as the legendary ‘Hotel of the Year’. And New York City is home to the ‘Best Newcomer’, The Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown.

Located where Tribeca and the Financial District meet and a block away from the World Trade Center and Ground Zero, this brand new hotel adds a classic profile to the city’s legendary skyline. Soaring upwards, this luxury tower looks onto Downtown New York, a neighbourhood that is reinventing itself on a daily basis and has become the place to see and be seen. The hotel, which was designed by architect Robert A.M. Stern, takes up the first 24 storeys in the tower, a luxury retreat that is both contemporary and tranquil.

The 189 guest rooms including 28 suites, located on floors 7 through 24, form a chic, richly layered canvas painted by global design stars Yabu Pushelberg. Some offer balconies and all feature spacious closets, 55-inch Smart TV’s, Bose stereo systems, private bars and luxe en suite facilities with a vanity mirror with built-in TV, illuminated shaving mirror, large tub and separate WC.

Suites offer a superlative level of luxury, some with terraces overlooking Downtown New York, all with powder rooms near the foyer and bathrooms with heated floors. Premium suites feature heated towel racks and a steam shower and the palatial Royal Suite, which encompasses half of the hotel’s 24th floor, offers every possible luxury for living, sleeping and entertaining. It features a dining area for 10, media room, office and opulent en suite master bedroom.

Dining opportunities are a cut above, in celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck’s first restaurant in Manhattan, CUT. There’s also a tranquil, state-of-the-art spa, gym and a lap pool.

Guests at this new hotel all receive celebrity treatment, which is why it has won this award. Add a stunning location, close to numerous sites and you have a winning combination for a getaway or business trip.
