Tag Heuer’s latest timepiece is touted as the most expensive smartwatch in the world. With a price tag of almost $200,000, we certainly believe it. Baroque Access has all the details

The new smartwatch from Swiss luxury watch brand Tag Heuer, the The TAG Heuer Connected 45 Full Diamond, has a 45mm case and features 18-karat polished white gold plus 23.35 carats of baguette diamonds. Better than its Tag predecessor, this model still boasts all the original’s elements, including NFC, GPS and everything else that made it worthy of applause.

So is it worth getting one just for the bling? Yes it is. You can always transform it into a mechanical timepiece when the electronic elements are outdated. In the meantime, enjoy the removable, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal window and parts inside the case, the diamond-studded lugs (they each have 16 diamonds) and the polished white gold finish – not to mention the 495 diamonds on the strap and the 78 sparklers on the bezel.

There’s a lot to boast about with this new timepiece, which is the newest iteration of the brand’s Connected Modular watch that was released in 2017. The display screen features AMOLED technology that offers better picture quality), a touch screen with 400 x 400 screen resolution, 512MB of memory and 4GB storage. The processor is powered by Intel and is compatible with AndroidTM 4.4 phones and iOS 9.3 or later versions. Features include WiFi, Google Fit Workout app, email, GPS, Android Pay, plus numerous other apps including Spotify, Netflix and Google Assistant (similar to Apple’s Siri, enabling the wearer to communicate with the watch through its microphone).

Tag Heuer’s new smartwatch was initially revealed at SIHH in Geneva at the beginning of this year. So if you’re looking for a Tag contender that is likely to outsmart all other smartwatch owners, this could definitely be the one. With the option to transform it into a regular timepiece once the smartwatch features become outdated, the Tag Heuer Connected Modular Full Diamond is sure to be a popular choice. If you have the cash handy, of course.

Those who will splash out for this diamond-encrusted masterpiece aren’t worrying about what it costs them. $200,000 is a small price to pay for exclusivity, smart features – and diamonds, of course.
