Now you can stay at an elite Ritz Carlton Reserve resort, a cut above the rest of the brand’s offerings, which are already some of the most luxurious resorts in the world. Baroque Travel has all the details
What does a luxury hotel brand do when it wants to offer even more luxe? If it’s Ritz Carlton, it creates another, even more exclusive brand. And so the elite selection of Ritz Carlton Reserve Resorts was born. Just like a limited edition wine, masterpiece or work of art, these specialist resorts are a collection of signature, one-of-a-kind establishments that can be termed ‘boutique’ because they are neither large nor overpowering.
Not one of these Reserves is as large as a typical Ritz Carlton resort, neither is it similar to any other in the stable. Each is quite unique, with its own personality. Each concentrates on personalised attention and the ultimate in luxury. And this is what sets the Reserve brand apart.
Each Reserve resort is created to typify its setting culture, history and tradition. It is not only ultra-luxurious, but also epitomises the best of the best that a guest could possibly wish for. All offer a relaxed setting so that guests feel relaxed and ‘at home’, and of course, the level of service is exceptional. The guest to staff ratio means that every guest gets the most personalised attention possible.
Currently there are two Ritz Carlton Reserves in existence – the first opened in 2010 in Phulay Bay, Thailand, and the second, Dorado Beach, in Puerto Rico opened two years later. The latest addition is the Mandapa, which will open in September, in time for Bali’s peak winter season. This romantic, mystical Indonesian island is fast becoming one of the most sought-after destinations on earth, and the addition of such a luxe property will only make it more popular.
Since it opened three years ago, Dorado Beach has received rave reviews, specifically for its exceptional service, stunning spa and luxurious rooms. In fact, a stunning spa has become the signature of every Ritz Carlton Reserve resort, and the one at Mandapa is believed to be just as extraordinary and over-the-top.
Mandapa, which opens to the public on September 5th, is located in the northern part of Bali, in Ubud, the island’s cultural center, which is a lush, tranquil open area famous for its arts and crafts. The Ritz Carlton Reserve offers a wide selection of wellness, health, detox and spiritual programs that encompass not only the stunning spa, but fitness and dining as well. Of course, being a Reserve resort, Mandapa also offers a decadent alternative, with a variety of activities and facilities that surpass everything on offer in Bali.
Boasting just 35 spacious luxe suites and 25 villas with private pools, the resort offers guests a fulltime personal butler, stunning Indonesian and Mediterranean cuisine as well as tailor-made menus for those who are on special wellness or detoxifying programs. All the food is prepared from the resort’s very own garden and farm. Another innovative offering is Dining Beyond, which enables guests to dine in special locations throughout the resort.
The resort even boasts its own rice field, and offers guests the opportunity to experience how rice is planted, harvested and produced for generations. But of course, it’s the spa that’s the highlight, with all sorts of programs and treatments imaginable, as well as a fitness center, yoga studio and vitality pool.
