Baglietto’s 48m Explorer, Hull 10277 — where Italian design meets global adventure.

From the Mediterranean to the Arctic: Baglietto’s 48m Explorer Embarks on a Journey Beyond Limits

In the world of modern yachting, adventure and artistry rarely converge so seamlessly. Yet the Baglietto 48m Explorer, Hull 10277, does exactly that — a fully custom creation built for an owner with a vision to voyage across the globe, from sunlit Mediterranean bays to the frozen edges of the Arctic. Designed by Satura Studio and crafted by the storied Italian shipyard Baglietto, this new megayacht blends expedition engineering with Mediterranean grace, redefining what it means to explore without compromise.

Engineered for the Extreme

According to the owner’s representatives at Floating Life, the Baglietto 10277 is built to navigate light first-year ice conditions, achieving Ice Class ID certification. This makes it perfectly suited for polar regions, while still offering the elegance and versatility needed for tropical waters. The yacht’s hull and technical specifications are being refined in collaboration with Floating Life, Zero13, and Baglietto’s naval architects to ensure optimal performance across diverse seas.

Mediterranean Elegance Meets Expedition Readiness

Though capable of Arctic exploration, the yacht’s styling evokes classic Mediterranean cruisers. Satura Studio has designed long, open decks and expansive beach areas ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and alfresco entertaining. Fold-down platforms and two-tiered lounging spaces enhance outdoor living, creating a seamless blend of luxury and adventure.

Adventure-Ready Features

A 33-foot custom tender expands the yacht’s capabilities, complete with rod holders, a live well, and seating under a hardtop. In collaboration with Besenzoni, a unique launch and retrieval system allows effortless deployment of the tender via a retractable platform, blending vintage Italian design elements from the 1940s–60s with modern yachting technology.

Inside, natural materials and open-plan layouts create a warm, welcoming ambience. A notable feature is the uninterrupted lower deck, made possible by placing engines on an under-lower deck, which preserves sight lines through see-through stairways to the upper levels.

Sustainable Power and Performance

Propulsion is handled by four Volvo Penta IPS units, compact, fuel-efficient, and adaptable to hybrid or fully electric operation. With Volvo Penta’s Eco Mode, the yacht automatically optimizes engine usage based on real-time conditions, ensuring efficiency without compromising performance. At a cruising speed of 10 knots, the yacht has a range of 5,000 nautical miles, making it a true global explorer.

Italian Ingenuity, Global Vision

The Baglietto 48m Explorer merges Italian craftsmanship, contemporary design, and technical innovation into one exceptional vessel. From icy polar waters to sun-soaked Mediterranean anchorages, Hull 10277 promises an unparalleled combination of luxury, performance, and adventure — setting a new standard for what an expedition yacht can be.
