Jacob & Co. Unveils the “God of Time”

Jacob & Co. has once again shattered expectations in high watchmaking with the unveiling of the God of Time, a horological masterpiece that houses the world’s fastest tourbillon. Completing a full rotation every four seconds, this engineering marvel is 15 times faster than a traditional one-minute tourbillon and even outpaces the Franck Muller Thunderbolt by a full second.

Designed as both a technical triumph and a sculptural statement, the God of Time cements Jacob & Co.’s reputation as one of the most daring innovators in modern horology.

The World’s Fastest Tourbillon

At the heart of the watch is the in-house JCAM60 calibre, a movement developed specifically to support this extreme level of performance. Despite the immense speed of the tourbillon, the movement delivers a robust 60-hour power reserve, ensuring the watch runs effortlessly through an entire weekend.

The tourbillon carriage itself is crafted from titanium and weighs an astonishing 0.27 grams, minimizing inertia while maximizing efficiency. Power is supplied via dual stacked barrels, while a constant-force mechanism guarantees consistent energy delivery to the escapement—no small feat at this velocity.

Further elevating the movement are a variable-inertia balance wheel with eight gold weights and a Breguet overcoil hairspring, reinforcing precision even under extreme rotational speed.

A Celestial Dial with Mythological Presence

The movement is showcased beneath a sapphire bridge and set against a deep blue aventurine dial, evoking a star-filled night sky. But the true visual centerpiece is impossible to miss.

At the heart of the dial sits a 37 mm rose-gold sculpture of Chronos, the Greek god of time. Fully hand-engraved, the figure cradles the tourbillon cage itself—an artistic fusion of mythology and mechanics that transforms the watch into wearable art.

Architecture Inspired by Ancient Greece

The 44.25 mm rose-gold case draws inspiration from classical Greek temples. Its ribbed caseband and crown echo Ionic pillars, reinforcing the mythological narrative behind the watch.

Turn the piece over and the spectacle continues. The blued sapphire caseback reveals the engraved face and signature of Jacob Arabo, marking his 60th birthday—a deeply personal tribute embedded into the design.

Exclusivity at Its Highest Level

Limited to just 60 pieces worldwide, the God of Time is a celebration of both technical mastery and legacy. The watch offers 30 meters of water resistance and is paired with a blue alligator strap secured by a rose-gold deployant clasp.

Jacob Arabo’s journey—from arriving in New York from Bukhara in 1979 to redefining modern luxury watchmaking—is reflected in every detail. From the iconic 288-faceted Jacob Cut diamond to record-breaking tourbillons, the God of Time stands as one of his most ambitious creations yet.

Final Word

With the God of Time, Jacob & Co. doesn’t merely tell time—it commands it. Equal parts mechanical breakthrough, sculptural art, and personal legacy, this watch is a defining statement in contemporary high horology.
