At the end of September, Audi fans will be able to purchase the most powerful Audi TT ever produced. Baroque Ground finds out all about this new super car
If you are in the market for a new super car, why not consider the most powerful Audi TT ever produced? The brand new Audi TT RS, which can be ordered from late September if you live in the UK, is priced from £51,800 for the Coupe model (in the region of US$68,500) and from £53,550 (around $71,000) for the convertible Roadster. If you live in the US, you will be able to purchase this super car only in the Coupe version, not the Roadster, in 2017.
Whatever your choice, the Coupé or the Roadster, this new version of the Audi TT is the most powerful form ever created to date. A definitive rival to other super cars of note, with sub-four-second acceleration capability and a top speed potential of 174 miles per hour for an optional Dynamic Package and 155mph without, the brand new Audi TT RS also offers an exclusive specification, the option of new Audi Matrix OLED lighting technology for the tail-lamps.
This new super car is lighter than its predecessor by 26kg as a result of its aluminium crankcase. It boasts a newly developed five-cylinder and a 2.5 litre TFSI engine with dual injection. Plus its Audi Valvelift technology offers a 17% increase in performance. Because of a considerable increase in both power and torque, this brand new Audi TT offers a 0 to 62 mile per hour sprint time in 3.7 seconds (3.9 seconds if you’re in the Roadster). And that’s incredible, if you consider that Audi’s very own super car, the R8, takes 3.2 seconds for that very same 0 to 62mph sprint.
The Audi TT has been a coveted vehicle since its first appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1995. The first production version of this beautiful vehicle was introduced in 1998. The new Audi TT RS has retained the model’s legendary deep, rich-sounding engine and its performance is optimum. It also boasts a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch gear box that sends power to all four wheels via a brand new Quattro system. The interior of the vehicle hasn’t changed much and still follows the design of the regular TT.
