High tea in Dubai? Yes, it’s coming – to the Dorchester in Dubai, a brand new pukkah British luxury hotel that is about to be built. Baroque Access has all the details
Private UAE-based luxury property developers Omniyat have joined forces with the luxury Dorchester Collection, which manages the legendary Dorchester in London, amongst others, to launch a hotel of the same caliber in Dubai. This property will be Dorchester’s very first establishment in the Middle East and Asia. The project will be officially launched in March 2018, but no details are available yet as to when the hotel will be completed. At the official launch, which will be an exclusive gala event, the project’s official name and its design will be revealed.
Omniyat has numerous prestigious estates in its portfolio, all located along the upmarket Dubai Canal, one of the city’s most famous attractions, which opened in 2017. The hotel will cover a vast 12km waterfront promenade and will apparently feature floating villas, a floating restaurant, pier and marina. It’s certainly going to be plush, and something to look forward to.
Many of Omniyat’s Dubai projects are results of partnerships with international brands. They include The One by Omniyat on Dubai’s iconic Palm Jumeirah, and the legendary Opus building, designed by late architect Zaha Hadid. Other partnerships include one with ME by Melia at the Opus building and another venture with The Langham group, a hotel of the same name in Dubai’s Business Bay.
The Dorchester in London is quite iconic, a unique establishment that hosts celebrity guests on a regular basis. It’s known for its doormen in fancy uniforms and lavish afternoon teas, sumptuous accommodation and luxury transportation in the hotel’s Rolls Royce cars.
The new establishment will be located on the banks of the famous Dubai Canal, and will include a plush hotel as well as luxury residences. Dorchester’s distinct style of hospitality has already become legendary in its hotels around the world, which include the Hotel Plaza Athenee in Paris, Hotel Eden in Rome, plus the legendary Beverly Hills Hotel and the Hotel Bel-Air, both in Los Angeles.
The Dorchester in London is a hard act to follow, with regular guests including the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, as well as Sir Elton John and Lady Gaga. Dubai’s new Dorchester is likely to follow suit, offering those who love English tradition a place to stay in this exciting desert city.
The new Dorchester establishment in Dubai may be the brand’s first foray into the Middle East, but plans are already underway for further projects in the region in the future. As can be expected, the new Dorchester Dubai hotel will be sumptuous, opulent and offer every luxury. There will, of course, no doubt be an exquisite swimming pool, not to mention a luxurious Presidential Suite, and the Dorchester’s trademark Imperial Suite. Word has it that an Alain Ducasse fine dining restaurant will also be located on the premises.
