One of the world’s most influential and best-attended motoring events, the LA Auto Show, will take place from 18 to 27 November. Baroque Ground finds out about the Audi A5 Cabriolet and other highlights
Every November, show creator ANSA Productions gathers together the Who’s Who of the Motoring Industry to unveil the future of motor vehicles in LA, the car culture capital of the world. And this year will be no exception. From 18 to 27 November, motoring enthusiasts from all corners of the globe will gather together at the LA Convention Center to enjoy the 2016 LA Auto Show and see what’s new and innovative in the world of motoring.
One of these is the Audi A5 Cabriolet, which is expected to be a highlight at the show. The new Audi A5 hardtop already blew everybody away at the Paris Motor Show in September, and the vehicle’s soft top iteration is expected to be even more popular. The 2016 Audi A5 convertible received plenty of adulation, and with new manufacturing processes and materials, the latest model is expected to surpass all that. In fact, with this new model, Audi has used its engineering genius to reduce the stiffness, increase the car’s strength and sort out its handling.
The 2017 Audi A5 convertible is stronger, longer and wider, giving it a lower center of gravity and a more spacious interior. In addition, the soft top is insulated to keep out external noise. Getting the roof down takes 15 seconds with the touch of a button, and microphones in the front seatbelts enable driver and passengers to communicate when the top is down. Car specs are high-tech and include up to 30 different functions such as park assist and collision avoidance. On routes with a speed limit of up to 65km per hour, the car can even accelerate and brake for itself, and steering can also be automated. At the show, prospective buyers will be able to find out all about the brand new A5, as well as the super-charged S5 version, which boasts a 3-liter 354hp six-cylinder turbo-charged engine, Quattro all-wheel drive and eight-speed paddle-shift transmission.
Prior to the show opening to the public, media, global industry leaders and marketers from more than 58 countries will come to attend the Show’s Press and Trade Days. In addition, a one-day conference and expo is held in conjunction with the LA Auto Show Press and Trade Days.
The Show opens to the pubic from 18 to 27 November 2016 and features everything imaginable related to motoring, whether it’s purchasing a new car, learning about the latest technology, exploring customized vehicles, comparison shopping different makes and models or anything else related to cars.
