Ritz-Carlton will open another Caribbean property in Bermuda in 2018. Baroque Travel has all the information
Bermuda is readying itself for an onslaught of visitors come 2017, mostly sailing enthusiasists, when the country hosts the prestigious America’s Cup finals. This hidden secret is about to become well-known, and as a result, many hotels and resorts will take advantage of the fame and popularity. One of these hotel brands is global group Ritz-Carlton, who are planning to build a luxury property in Bermuda to open in 2018.
The establishment, which will be called the Ritz-Carlton Reserve, will be the third of its kind to open in the region – there is already a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Puerto Rico on Dorado Beach, which opened in 2012, and this year, the brand is opening a second Reserve in Mexico’s Puerto Los Cabos.
The latest Reserve will be situated on the western side of Bermuda, which is the island’s historic region, on 2.5 miles of spectacular coastline. It includes a spectacular peninsula that extends into the Great Sound.
Ritz-Carlton has already opened several luxurious establishments that it calls Reserves, properties that are sophisticated, secluded and offer unique luxury experiences. These include one in the village of Krabi in Thailand, the Puerto Rico property and the Mandapa, which opened in Ubud, in Bali in late 2015. The new Reserve in Bermuda will operate under a long-term management agreement between Ritz-Carlton and George’s Bay Hotel Limited, plus George’s Bay Residences Ltd.
The group promises that the Bermuda Reserve will offer Bermuda a “one-of-a-kind, luxury experience”. The five-star hotel and resort development will be a multi-million dollar project that involves developing the site where the former US Naval Operating Base was located. The result will be a 79-room luxury property that will offer a series of restaurants, a spa and various retail stores. It will include 173 private residences that will be available for purchase as well as a yacht marina that will accommodate 77 boats and 21 mega-yachts.
No doubt this Ritz-Carlton property will be an exclusive luxury experience for those visiting this Caribbean island. The brand plans to offer sophisticated travelers a superlative luxury experience come 2018, and we are confident that it will become a very popular destination for those who have the money to enjoy it.
