Spend your summer in Mexico at the One&Only Palmilla’s brand new Villa One
You can’t get any better than this… already famous as one of the most sumptuous settings in Mexico, the One&Only Palmilla in Baja California has been a hidden retreat for the rich and famous since 1956. Originally built as a luxe hideaway by Don Abelardo Rodriguez, son of the President of Mexico at the time, it is accessible only by private yacht or plane. In the early days, it was a haven for the likes of John Wayne, Lucille Ball, former US President Dwight D. Eisenhower and the like.
Because of its popularity, the resort increased in size in 1970 and by 1984 there were 50 rooms on offer. In 1996, the Palmilla Golf Club opened to cater to the many guests who flocked here, and in 1996, the resort increased to 115 rooms. In 2004, it reopened as the One&Only Palmilla after a $90 million refurbishment. And the rest, as they say, is history.
This superlative resort has just built a spectacular new villa for those seeking the utmost privacy in an idyllic Mexican setting with breathtaking views and every possible luxury on tap. Villa One nestles in lush tropical gardens. It boasts approximately 14,000 square feet in total. The private entrance opens to a spacious room with glass doors opening 30 feet wide to reveal spectacular views of the vast infinity pool, overlooking lush tropical grounds.
The villa has been designed in a modern style using natural local materials, and offers endless views. It’s reminiscent of a glass house, with floor to ceiling glass doors throughout. Living and dining areas feature an open kitchen, which is ideal for entertaining. In addition, there are four bedrooms plus an additional butler’s suite.
Staying at Villa One is a privileged experience. Guests arrive from the airport via chauffeured luxury SUV (flights to and from LA are 2 hours 2 minutes). While staying at Villa One, guests enjoy the facilities of a dedicated fitness trainer, exclusive hors d’oeuvres and canapés daily, full bar, laundry services, 24-hour butler, iPhone to contact the butler, chef and household staff, sunset drinks and canapés, preferred seating at the resort’s restaurants, tea and espresso and everything else that the One&Only resorts are so famous for, including a linen, robe and pillow menu, aromatherapy turndown menu, high speed Internet and WiFi, movie theater refreshments and much more.
