American-owned Hard Rock International, the renowned chain of theme restaurants that are located all over the world, has announced the opening of a luxury hotel in the heart of London by 2018
The hotel will replace the city’s current Cumberland Hotel, which has an excellent location at Marble Arch on Hyde Park, a short walk from the original Hard Rock Café. It was also frequently visited by rock star legend Jimi Hendrix. The existing hotel will be transformed into a 900-room luxury establishment by Hard Rock International together with the global British-based hotel company, glh Hotels.
Hard Rock Café has had a long musical heritage in London – the first Hard Rock Café opened in the city in 1971. As a result, the new Hard Rock Hotel will host live music regularly featuring local and international talents. It will offer a welcoming lounge in the lobby where guests can enjoy signature cocktails while listening to live music. It will also feature guest rooms offering views of Hyde Park as well as an on-site Hard Rock Café and a Rock Shop, where one can purchase the brand’s famous merchandise. In addition, the Hotel will feature signature displays of musical memorabilia, and will also keep a vault of around 80,000 historical Hard Rock items.
The hotel will offer a signature restaurant, sophisticated speakeasy and full service Rock Spa. Of course, the location at the entrance to Hyde Park is idyllic, conveniently situated close to some of London’s most famous West End attractions, including Buckingham Palace, the vibrant theatre district, buzzing nightlife in SoHo and excellent, on trend shopping areas.

The Hard Rock Hotel London is not the only new Hard Rock hotel venture in the pipeline; more than 10 projects are underway, including some more hotels being built, including one in New York, one in Atlanta and one at Berlin’s Checkpoint Charlie. Hard Rock International (HRI) already boasts venues in 69 countries, including 164 cafes, 23 hotels and 11 Casinos around the world. The London hotel will open in the summer of 2018.
