Sir Richard Branson opens luxury Mallorca resort

There’s still time to book an idyllic vacation in Mallorca, and if you act fast, you could even enjoy a stay at the new all-inclusive beach retreat opened by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin fame. Baroque Villas has all the details

Virgin Limited Edition’s latest property is quite superb, and offers a choice of two exquisite villas that are available for rent from around US$19,000 per week. Called Sa Punta De S’Aguila and Sa Terra Rotja, they are both located close to each other on the Spanish jetset island retreat, but far enough to enjoy complete privacy. The extravagant villas are set in 680 lush acres of the Son Bunyola estate with uninterrupted views of the magnificent Mediterranean.

Located on the north-west coast of Mallorca, the vast estate is also home to its own grapevines and olive trees, offering an idyllic setting for an exclusive getaway.

Sa Punta De S’Augila, which translates to ‘Eagles Point’ in English, is a Mallorcan-style luxury villa located high up on a hill offering panoramic views of both the sea and the mountain. It features five en-suite bedrooms, a beautiful heated swimming pool and a spacious living area and kitchen. Sa Terra Rotja, which means ‘Red Earth’ in English, is a slightly smaller but equally plush villa, and offers four en suite bedrooms. It also boasts a heated swimming pool and is located just a short walk from a nearby pebble beach.

Guests who stay here enjoy an all-inclusive holiday that encompasses everything from accommodation to housekeeping services, WiFi, drinks, a concierge and a chef who prepares all meals. Guests can tailor-make their menus to suit their personal tastes and enjoy Continental breakfast, followed by a buffet lunch and three-course sit-down dinner made by the in-house chef daily. Dishes are a choice of local Mallorcan or Mediterranean-style. Of course, that doesn’t stop guests exploring further afield and enjoying some of the local hotspots. The in-house concierge is available to arrange reservations at restaurants and anything else guests may require.

Son Bunyola’s two exquisite villas is the latest addition to Sir Richard Branson’s collection of exclusive retreats, which include Kasbah Tamadot in Morocco, Necker Island in the British Virgin Island and Ulusaba in South Africa. This Mallorcan idyll dates back to the 1800s and is located close to the Tramuntana mountain range.
