Langham Place Introduces Roche Bobois Suites

Langham Place New York is introducing two brand new suites in time for New York Fashion Week, which takes place from 7 to 15 September 2016. Baroque Travel finds out all the details

Luxury Fifth Avenue hotel Langham Place recently announced a unique collaboration with world-famous French design house Roche Bobois to create two ultra-luxe suites at the hotel which will open in time for guests to stay there during New York Fashion Week in September. The suites, both of which measure 1,900 square feet in size, are located on the plush hotel’s 25th and 26th floors. They are individually decorated and feature Roche Babois’ iconic flair for detail and design.

Interestingly enough, there is a Roche Babois store near the hotel, which is one of the reasons that the collaboration was agreed upon. The new Roche Bobois suites will feature the design brand’s inimitable French ‘art de vivre’, a combination of sophistication and contemporary elegance that personifies the brand, which has been in existence for more than half a century.

Suites 2503 and 2603 are located almost at the top of the hotel. Each features two full bedrooms, both en suite, as well as an additional small bathroom, combined living and dining area, full-service kitchen and exquisite floor-to-ceiling windows offering dramatic views of the New York skyline and the Empire State Building.

The design of both suites has been inspired by Roche Bobois’ long-standing partnerships with iconic fashion houses such as Missoni and Jean Paul Gaultier. The design house recently collaborated with Christian Lacroix and some of these design elements are evident, such as the exquisite brocade artwork created using materials from Lacroix’s design house. There are numerous novel furniture touches such as a tufted leather ottoman, which is Roche Bobois’ take on a classic Chesterfield, the existing Alex Katz artwork at the hotel, which is exclusively featured at Langham Place in New York, drapery by British designer Paul Smith that evoke the sharp, tailored lines of a man’s suit and accent pillows and throws by Maison Lacroix, home furnishing division of Christian Lacroix Paris.

Of course, that’s just a small taste of what will be on offer in these unique, exclusive luxury suites. The hotel already has a reputation for luxury, comfort and sophistication, and with a location as upmarket as Fifth Avenue, it delivers the highest standards. Langham Place is known for having some of the largest guest rooms and suites in the city. The first phase of its renovation included rejuvenation by designers Meyer Davis and the multi-million dollar permanent art collection by Alex Katz mentioned above. There’s also a Michelin starred restaurant, Ai Fiori on the second floor of the hotel and a stunning events area, The Gallery at Langham Place, which takes up an entire floor of the hotel.
