Finishing classes at the Plaza? You bet! Baroque Access finds out about the first finishing program of its kind which is being launched in NYC
Every successful businessman will tell you about the importance of proper decorum in daily business and social environments. So it comes as no surprise that a leading luxury NYC hotel has taken the initiative and launched a series of proper etiquette classes with the globally-renowned Myka Meier of Beaumont Etiquette, the first finishing program of its kind to be launched in the United States.
These one-of-a-kind etiquette courses will be taught by founder of Beaumont Etiquette, Myka Meir, who was originally trained by a former member of the Royal Household of Her Majesty the Queen of England before attending finishing schools in England and Switzerland. The courses on offer at the Plaza are based on Western etiquette, taking into consideration the fundamentals of American, British and European customs.
The Plaza NYC is offering two different programs: there’s The Plaza Proper Etiquette Evenings as well as The Plaza Weekend Finishing Program. The two-hour evening course is limited to 20 people maximum and will be held on Wednesday evenings during 2017 at the Plaza’s Palm Court. Attendants will enjoy cocktails and canapés during the evening. These classes are for people over the age of 21 years.
The longer, Plaza Weekend Finishing Program takes a maximum of 12 participants on a weekend-long journey to explore seven different categories of etiquette, from formal dining decorum to subjects related to one’s style and stature (deportment). This is a very intensive, hands-on course, featuring guest lecturers and a certificate on completion. Subjects covered include everything from social media etiquette and how to select a diamond to setting a formal table and proper posture. Anybody over the age of 18 can attend these weekend courses. Those businesspeople hoping to take their careers global by mastering cultural etiquette will benefit a lot from these courses, which will feature guest speakers and programs in partnership with heritage brands.
