Inspired by the world of haute couture, Rolls Royce has created a brand new range of magnificent cars, ‘Dawn – Inspired by Fashion’. Baroque Ground finds out all the details
Rolls Royce has had a long-standing relationship with the world of haute couture, so designing a new range of vehicles in time for an upcoming fashion season isn’t something new. But the innovative designs on offer for Spring/Summer 2017 bear testimony to the brand’s iconic forward-thinking and timeless style.
For the new season, Rolls Royce has chosen detailing in vibrant color to complement a palette of classic white Rolls Royce Dawn vehicles. As Rolls Royce is quick to attest, the British car manufacturer has a similar philosophy to the world of high fashion. Both take the very finest materials and craft them into the most beautiful and covetable luxury products to inspire their clients’ tastes and lifestyles.
For the latest couture Rolls Royce collection, a team of designers were hand selected from the world of fashion, fine textiles and luxury accessories. Their task was to select three vibrant colors to set the tone for the new collection, colors that were offset by a neutral canvas of white. They chose three exceptional, bright shades: Cobalto Blue, Mandarin and Mugello Red. Subtle accents of these three colors were then incorporated into the interior design of each Dawn vehicle. This includes a brushstroke of color that is revealed when the convertible’s roof is lifted to provide shelter.
According to Director of Design for Rolls Royce Motor Cars, Giles Taylor, those who purchase their vehicles are trend setters. The latest collection of vehicles, entitled ‘Dawn – Inspired by Fashion’, perfectly expresses this. Like bespoke haute couture garments, the owner’s individuality is showcased in subtle details. The same applies to these breathtaking new cars.
When one opens the door of one of the latest Dawn vehicles, the car’s contemporary white exterior is offset by a black and white interior, that is then accented by the owner’s choice of one of the three vivid colors chosen for this Spring/Summer 2017 collection. It’s evident in embroidery on the seat headrests, on the stitching and piping of the seats, and even on the perfectly seamless stitching on the leather steering wheel.
Rolls Royce’s legendary craftsmanship and attention to detail is further accented on the dashboard, which is created in Piano White with aluminum particles to make it resemble silk. This finish alone takes nine days to achieve on each individual vehicle.
Prospective buyers of the new Dawn Rolls Royce can commission their brand new vehicle to their personal specifications from this month onwards. The price? The new model is available from £224,000 ($280,400 approximately). The bespoke service is at an additional cost.
