Fashion fans from all over the world will soon be en route to London to enjoy one of the biggest dates in the fashion calendar, London Fashion Week, from 16 to 20 February 2017. Baroque Access finds out all the details
Held in London at a series of venues every February and September, London Fashion Week is when local UK designers showcase their collections. Internationally famous labels such as Burberry, Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen grace the catwalk, reinventing how style will be seen for the coming season.
Presided over by the British Fashion Council (BFC), London Fashion Week will be held at various locations in central London, including BFC Show Space and its Presentation Space at 180 Strand, as well as the Topshop Show Space at Tate Modern Turbine Hall. Various presentations will be held in Painting Rooms at the Royal Society of Arts in Durham House Street as well as at Oxo Tower Wharf on the South Bank.
While these shows are invitation only, social media makes sure that the public is aware of everything that happens on the catwalk. For the first time this year, the public is able to attend The London Fashion Week Festival, formerly called London Fashion Weekend. This comprises a series of events that are open to the public from 23 to 26 February 2017 where giant screens will show all the collections, and visitors will enjoy workshops, live demonstrations, beauty treatments and more. The main focus of the festival is The Store Studios, for which the public can purchase tickets. Located at 180 Strand, this is where designers will host curated pop up stores from more than 150 international and British designer brands.
