This February at the 29th annual Yachts Miami Beach, Aston Martin debuted a stunning Powerboat. Baroque Yachts has all the details

Yachts Miami Beach, from 16 to 20 February 2017, featured many of the most extraordinary and uniquely designed yachts and super yachts from international custom boat builders. It also featured a reveal from one of the world’s most luxurious automobile manufacturers, the prototype Aston Martin AM37 powerboat. This represents an entirely new concept for the yachting world, and was received with much acclaim.

Created by Quintessence Yachts, the AM37 certainly challenges the status quo and offers the perfect translation of Aston Martin’s legendary personality into an entirely new maritime concept. The boat design combines innovative technology with bespoke craftsmanship. As the brand describes it, “there is a perfect balance of design and engineering, performance and comfort, luxury and functionality”.

The Aston Martin Powerboat can carry a maximum of eight passengers, making it an ideal luxury day cruiser. Quintessence Yachts designed and crafted the vessel with meticulous attention to detail at their UK premises last year. Some of the more unique aspects of the boat include a sliding deck that uses unique technology that enables owners to cover and uncover the boat’s cockpit at the touch of a button. The Powerboat also features a wraparound windscreen created from a single piece of sculpted glass that drapes over the boat’s foredeck. This innovative windscreen sets a new industry standard with its extreme double curvature.

The boat has an electro-hydraulic carbon fiber top that can be stowed above the engine hatch when not in use. There’s also a swim platform that extends from the aft deck that gives passengers easy access to the water. The carbon fiber dashboard is reminiscent of various styling elements from some of the most advanced Aston Martin sports cars. It is created in the finest leather and offers various functional features in polished metal including the steering wheel, joystick and throttle handles.

The AM37 has been designed to be used both by day and overnight. The table converts into a comfortable double bed and the cabin offers air-conditioning and mood lighting. There is a fridge, microwave oven and espresso machine in the cabin as well as an onboard toilet and the interior design includes leather, metal, glass and wood plus exquisite furnishings.

The Powerboat is 37 feet long and comes in a choice of two versions, one with an estimated top speed of 45 and a choice of two 370 hp Mercury diesel engines, and the other with two 430 hp Mercury petrol engines and an estimated top speed of 50 knots.
