The most prestigious luxury classic and super car show, Concours d’Elegance takes place for the third time at Blenheim Palace. Baroque Ground has all the details
The most prestigious British luxury classic and super car event, known as Salon Prive is ready for another round. Kicking off this exciting three-day event is the Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elegance, which is famous for attracting extremely rare entries from some of the most iconic auto makers in the world. Enthusiasts from every corner of the globe come to Blenheim Palace to admire these world-class machines, including this year’s highlights – an elegant 1939 Horch 853A Cabriolet which has just been restored over the past four years, and a magnificent 1965 427 Cobra.
Every year the Concours d’Elegance sets a higher benchmark when it comes to world-class entrants, and the 2017 list is exceptional. Last year the 1956 Ferrari 500 Testa Rossa stole the show, and with the standard of vehicles expected for 2017, the winner of Best in Show is sure to be exceptional.
One of the entrants that is already confirmed is the Cobra, which is entered into the class ‘Classic Sports Racers against the Stopwatch’. There’s also the newly restored Horch we mentioned above, a part of a German collection that is sure to attract crowds. It is entered into the ‘Graceful Prewar Motoring’ class.
In 2017, there will be two different Concours celebrations, the original as well as the inaugural Concours Masters that pays tribute to 70 Years of Ferrari. Excited visitors will see a range of 70 unique Ferrari models on display.
The Concours includes 10 different classes in all, and each class will be made up of a selection of hand-picked vehicles and motor vehicles that will then be assessed by an internationally recognized panel of judges.
