Feast your eyes on your dream vehicle – the luxury all-electric Aston Martin RapidE, which was developed as a concept car in 2015 and will be available to purchase next year. Baroque Ground has all the details
Finally, Aston Martin has confirmed the production of its first-ever all-electric model, less than two years after unveiling it as a concept car. The all-electric Rapid E will be produced in 2019, bringing a new era to this exceptional super car brand. Initially, Aston Martin will only produce 155 electric vehicles. This is the automakers first all-electric model and is the start of the brand’s foray into producing low- and zero-emission vehicles.
British vehicle manufacturers Aston Martin, which has been in existence for just over a century, is one of the world’s most famousluxury sports car brands. It initially worked together with UK-based Williams Advanced Engineering on the original RapidE concept car. They will also assist the automaker with the complex task of integrating engineering in these new vehicles. The newest addition to Aston Martin’s stable will be a four-door sports vehicle that features the looks and dynamics created by the brand’s Rapide S models. The new eco cars will be powered by an all-electric powertrain that will replace the Rapide S’s six-liter V12 engine. As a result, the RapidE will offer those lucky enough to purchase one of the 155 limited edition models a unique driving experience, one never before experienced by anyone who has had the fortune to own and/or drive an Aston Martin.
The RapidE concept was unveiled originally in October 2015, and the brand is very proud to have reached a new milestone in its history with confirmation of production of these all-electric cars come 2019. According to President and CEO of Aston Martin, Dr Andy Palmer, “RapidE represents a sustainable future in which Aston Martin’s values of seductive style and supreme performance don’t merely co-exist alongside a new zero-emission powertrain, but are enhanced by it.”
He explains how the internal combustion engine has been the core of the brand for over 100 years and believes this will continue into the future. Although radically different from its predecessors, the new RapidE will deliver a new breed of car “that stays true to our ethos and delights our customers.”
