Where to Stay in Thailand

Some magnificent new hotels are opening in Thailand’s Phang Nga province north of Phuket Island. Baroque Travel looks at one of these, the exquisite Iniala Beach House

Nestling amidst palm trees on the gorgeous white sand Natai Beach, the stunning Iniala Beach House boasts an idyllic setting overlooking the Andaman Sea. The hotel itself is a design masterpiece, a combination of traditional Thai architecture and contemporary aspects that results in a luxurious and whimsical space.

Using the creativity of 10 different internationally renowned designers, the hotel features a variety of different spaces that comprise accommodation in three beautiful villas, 2 suites and a spectacular penthouse, all facing the ocean. It also features an innovative Kids Hotel, Art Gallery, gym and an excellent restaurant, Esenzi, headed by executive chef Seumas Smith, whose menus feature Thai and Western delights.

The hotel’s various designers have used a number of innovative techniques and local materials to create custom-made furniture and fixtures in the three beachfront villas. Each is individually designed and features its own private spa area for massages and beauty treatments, 3 bedrooms with their own en suite bathrooms and plenty of space to relax or entertain, with a spacious deck, a dining and living area plus a lovely 20-meter swimming pool. The Collector’s Villa also boasts its own private cinema as well as a beautiful crystal dining room, lavish pool and a spa created out of mother of pearl.

The magnificent Iniala Penthouse boasts a 250-square meter terrace and an oversized swimming pool. It has one bedroom with a jacuzzi bath in the bathroom and a kitchen area. The hotel also features a one-bedroomed pool suite with mountain views as well as a choice of one 1- or 2-bedroom pool suite offering pool views.

Iniala Beach House is literally a living art gallery full of sculptures and ceramics from some of the top artists in Southeast Asia, offering guests a truly memorable creative environment. Since it opened, Iniala has hosted many of the top 50 chefs in the world who have come to prepare pop-up dinners or larger events for guests.

Iniala Beach House prides itself on offering guests pampering 24/7 in a setting that is an indulgence in itself, something quite unique, especially for Thailand. The hotel has definitely created a whole new level of luxury to the Phuket area. Guests enjoy various unique experiences including a half-day cooking class with one of the esteemed restaurant chefs.
