The K Bar – A new addition to London’s chic bar scene

Opened this month in west London, the area famous for its vibrant bar scene, is a brand new bar at the luxurious Kensington Hotel. Baroque Travel has all the details

If you’re in London, or planning a visit to this cosmopolitan city soon, make sure to visit K Bar, the latest chic establishment to open in west London. Located at the sumptuous Kensington Hotel, this new bar has already received lots of attention. Not surprising, as the Kensington Hotel is renowned for being a stylish establishment. Apparently the K Bar will offer one of the finest drink menus in the city, including world class cocktails. No wonder everybody’s talking about it!

 

The K Bar has been designed to resemble a sophisticated British gentlemen’s club. Its interior includes exquisite dark oak paneling including bookcases, and the décor features lots of jade green, royal blue and polished brass details. In keeping with the sophistication of a sauve, elegant gentlemen’s establishment, the K Bar will have subtle lighting, and of course, a very extensive selection of drinks, including premium wines, cocktails and spirits.

The signature cocktail menu is going to be extensive and exclusive, a mix of traditional offerings and more innovative creations featuring contemporary ingredients as well as more classic ones. And yes, there will be non-alcoholic alternatives.

 

Already, despite only being open a few days, the K Bar has gained a reputation for being a bar well worth visiting in South Kensington. The hotel, which is part of the Doyle Collection, already has a very loyal following, and the bar is likely to draw an even more loyal and sophisticated crowd.

The Bar Manager is Ben Manchester, who previously worked at the Hotel du Vin in Brighton for a decade. He is responsible for creating the innovative bar menu, and choosing the classic and lesser-known cocktails (by the way, these are served to both men and women, despite the genteel gentleman’s club feel). The glamorous champagne cocktails are already gaining a following, and the non-alcoholic iterations are just as popular.

 

Some of the more original concoctions include the Tahona Fizz (made using Don Julio Blanco tequila, celery bitters, sugar and champagne), the VA Vo Voom, which features volda, vanilla, strawberry puree, champagne and pineapple juice, and the Rose Petal, which is decorated with red rose petals – a blend of Cointreau, rose syrup, lemon juice and the hotel’s signature champagne.

Of course, once you’ve had a drink or two, you can always stay on and enjoy dinner at the hotel’s Town House Restaurant. This would round off the luxury experience in the best way possible.
